I recently had a meeting with local car valeting company, The Brilliant Car Cleaning Company and we agreed that the best way for me to write an editorial for them would be for me to have my 4x4 valeted by them so I could see for myself and let you know how brilliant they are. We were lucky that the afternoon I had the valet booked for was a lovely, sunny afternoon. As you can appreciate, if the weather is bad then it is not possible to valet your vehicle outdoors. Being a mobile company, they came over to my house and could carry out the work in my driveway. All that was required was access to a hose pipe and an electrical socket. Although the head office is in Tonbridge, Simon is based in Edenbridge and has been with the company for nearly 5-years. He even cleans his own van twice a day and gets as much satisfaction from a clean van as I do from a thoroughly weeded flower bed. The process starts with a thorough pressure wash, including wheels and boot shuts. He then sponges the car and leathers off. Once the wet works is complete on the outside, the interior is vacuumed. After that the doors, dashboard and all other parts are cleaned and polished and all the upholstery and carpets are shampooed. The end result is a gleaming interior. Simon even removed the dead leaves as much as possible from my vents. The next job was to tidy up the outside of the vehicle and again, much work was needed to get this gleaming. The bumpers and trim were treated with a special polish to make them black again although not everything was treatable as there were a number of scratches over my bumpers and also on the paint work. When Simon started the job he said it would be just as it was when I first got it and he was right. I didn't believe that it would be possible to get my car looking so nice and I was so chuffed with the end result. The whole process took about 3-hours and due to the size of the vehicle and what state it was in, it would have cost £100. A full valet would normally cost between £85-£110. As i needed my car that evening, Simon left me with a plastic seat cover so I wouldn't get a wet bottom. Even driving the car was a whole new driving experience for me too - the steering felt much lighter (could it have been so filthy?) and even just looking out the windscreen was fantastic as everything was so clear. It's not just cars that the company clean either - they will do anything from motorbikes and motor homes to yachts and helicopters! They also offer bulk discounts as well.
